JSW Steel Crane Technician Level 1 & All Opportunities (MANY) in Mingo Junction, Ohio
JSW Steel is seeking to hire a skilled and safety-focused Crane Technician to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair cranes and lifting equipment. This role is critical in ensuring equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance, including checking for wear and tear, lubricating components, monitoring fluid levels, and completing scheduled maintenance to prevent equipment failure.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues involving motors, gearboxes, brakes, control systems, and other crane components. Make repairs by adjusting settings or replacing defective parts.
- Conduct load testing to verify cranes are operating within capacity limits and assist in maintaining required certifications and compliance documentation.
- Replace worn or damaged components such as hoist ropes, wheels, bearings, electrical parts, and related hardware.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics to identify, diagnose, and repair electrical faults within crane systems.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used for each crane.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Crane Technician or similar heavy equipment maintenance role.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
