Job Description:
The Purchasing team supporting Caterpillar’s Earthmoving products is looking for a Fluid delivery Tubes Buyer. In this role, you will carry out in-depth actions across the European supplier base to best support our customer plants, particularly in the areas of Operational Excellence, strategy, and cost reduction.
Your main responsibilities will include :
• Strategy:
Support and develop the European supplier strategy for the Category, in alignment with the product group strategy and customer plants. Collaborate with the NPI team cell to ensure sourcing decisions are consistent with this strategy.
• Cost reduction:
Identify opportunities and successfully lead related projects involving negotiations, source changes, and/or the establishment of contracts. Analyze and document market index trends to support these initiatives, and contribute to the development of the commodity’s annual budget.
• Operational excellence:
-Establish and maintain high-quality relationships with suppliers.
-Monitor and actively manage suppliers’ operational performance in terms of quality, velocity and capacity, taking all appropriate actions to improve performance in collaboration with suppliers and all internal Caterpillar stakeholders.
- Support the deployment of Caterpillar initiatives at supplier sites.
Profile:
• Education: Degree from a business school or a general engineering school, with a first successful experience in technical/industrial purchasing.
• Fluent professional English , written and spoken.
• Leadership , drive, and the ability to coordinate across multiple functions.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills , with excellent interpersonal relationships.
• Strong abilities in prioritization, anticipation, analysis, and problem-solving.
• Honesty, humility, and a team spirit are values you share.
Additional Information
Travel requirements: 10-20% (Europe)Not open to ISE / No relocation will be offered.
We are back! This role requires being in the office five days a week, should you not be on business travel.
