This role offers an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with a variety of fabrication techniques, tools, and machinery to create high-quality components and assemblies. A key member of the Sielaff Corporation team, the Tooling & Fabrication Specialist will collaborate with production and design staff to support daily manufacturing operations, tooling development, and prototyping initiatives. This is a highly hands-on role requiring advanced machine shop expertise. The Specialist will fabricate precision components, fixtures, and tooling while also troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing machinery and equipment across the factory floor. This role bridges engineering concepts with real-world fabrication execution. Duties & Responsibilities - Design, develop, and fabricate tooling, jigs, and fixtures required to produce company products efficiently and accurately - Develop concept models and build product prototypes for new product launches and improvements - Perform advanced machining and fabrication work using manual and CNC equipment - Complete design calculations, analyses, drawings, and related documentation - Perform both simple and complex setups on production machinery and fixtures - Troubleshoot, repair, and optimize machinery, tooling, and equipment to minimize downtime - Improve production efficiency through tooling redesign and process enhancements - Create and edit technical drawings using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks - Interpret engineering drawings, prints, and models to fabricate required components - Collaborate with production, marketing, sales, and design teams to support new product development - Develop technical requirements for tooling related to new products or product enhancements - Work with outside vendors, consultants, and suppliers as needed - Assist in training production employees on machine setup, tooling use, and fabrication processes - Manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them through to production implementation - Maintain organized documentation and revision control of tooling designs - Perform additional job-related duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor Qualifications - 5+ years of hands-on experience in machining, metal fabrication, tool & die making, fixture building, or related manufacturing field - Associate\'s or Bachelor\'s degree in a related field preferred - Formal training in engineering technology, manufacturing technology, tool & die, or related field preferred - Prior professional experience in hands-on machining, metal fabrication, tool & die making, and fixture building required - Strong experience setting up and operating manual and CNC machine tools - CNC programming experience preferred - Proficient in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks (creation and editing of drawing files required) - Strong shop math skills and ability to interpret complex prints and 3D models - Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical and tooling-related issues independently - Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments - Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative - Positive, professional demeanor with strong attention to detail ***** APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Apply In Person: Please come into the facility at 1011 Dodge Street in Mineral Point, Wi. to complete an application.
