Per-Diem Youth Skills Worker
The Opportunity
The Youth Skills Worker engages children, who are at risk of or diagnosed with a mental health diagnosis, in individual and/or group skill building activities. The youth range from 5-21 years of age and live in Suffolk County. All services are provided in person in the youth’s home and/or community.
Responsibilities
Provide in person services to assist the youth in developing and applying skills in natural settings
Provide hands-on and task oriented activities to align with the youth’s plan of care goals
Promote advocacy skills to the youth being served
On-going collaboration with the youth’s Case Manager
Complete progress notes for all contacts.
Operate from a strength based and family driven perspective
Additional responsibilities as assigned to support program operations
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of TWO years’ experience working with children in the mental, behavioral health or other human service field.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient computer skills with MS Office
Valid and clean New York State Driver's License
Compensation
FCA offers competitive compensation within a supportive culture that values growth and opportunity. Final salary decisions are based on experience and qualifications.
Additional Information
Salary or Hourly: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: varies based on client schedule and need
This role is Per Diem (up to 15 hours a week)
