BIOLOGIST SUPERVISOR- MINDEN

This is a biological position based at the LDWF Minden Field Office that ensures wildlife management plans are enacted through directive from the Biologist Manager. This position oversees all wildlife management activities at Bayou Pierre, Bodcau, John Franks, Loggy Bayou, and Soda Lake WMAs. It also provides technical assistance to private landowners. The selected candidate will directly supervise one Biologist and one Tech Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in a biological science, marine science, environmental science, wildlife or fisheries, animal science, forestry, or natural resources plus four years of experience in wildlife or fisheries, forestry, or environmental science; OR

A non-thesis master's degree in a biological science, marine science, environmental science, wildlife or fisheries, animal science, forestry, or natural resources plus three years of the required specialized experience; OR

A master's degree with a completed thesis or a doctorate in a biological science, marine science, environmental science, wildlife or fisheries, animal science, forestry, or natural resources plus two years of the required specialized experience.

JOB DUTIES

Some of the duties of the position include the following:

  • Oversees all wildlife management activities for numerous wildlife manage areas

  • Conducting field surveys

  • Research projects

  • User surveys & harvest surveys

  • Oil and gas investigations

POSITION- SPECIFIC DETAILS:

This position will be domiciled in Webster Parish.
