JOB REQUIREMENTS: WHAT WE DO Norris\' Group Care Programs include a Residential Unit for boys, a Residential Unit for girls, and a Shelter Unit, all providing treatment, educational, and therapeutic recreational services to youth ages 12 through 17 and their families. Youth receive services related to mental health emotional behavioral disorders, problematic sexualized behaviors, AODA, and trauma, including physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Norris is currently seeking a Second Shift Supervisor and an Overnight Supervisor to fulfill the role of Shift Supervisor for our new Residential Care Program, providing services to female youth, which is a first in Norris history which has been around for over 100 years! ESSENTIAL DUTIES Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Shift Supervisor oversees the milieu and the day-to-day operations of an assigned hall/building. Follow all Norris policies, protocols, and procedures, licensing requirements, placing agency expectations and best practice standards. The Shift Supervisor ensures that hall services address youth needs, such as: according to their personalized plans (i.e., treatment, learning, etc.) helps employees implement trauma informed principles, uses and teaches de-escalation techniques, serves as an overall resource for the hall and leadership team. Directly supervises all Youth Care Specialists on their shift. Serves in the Leader on Duty (LOD) role. Ensures appropriate cultural responsiveness to the ethnic and cultural diversity of youth, families and employees while effectively communicating and promoting the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of Norris. As a 24/7 treatment program, the Shift Supervisor position requires the individual to work a flexible schedule in order to support the needs of their shift and the program and understands that their schedule is subject to change to meet the program\'s evolving needs at any time, including nights, weekends and holidays. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor\'s degree or Associate\'s degree in a social or behavioral science is preferred. Candidates must have a minimum of four years of experience working with children involved with the child welfare and/or juvenile justice systems with demonstrated physical and mental skill and ability to intervene and manage difficult/acting out behaviors according to Norris philosophy and practice required.
