What you will do: At Johnson Controls, we are committed to building intelligent, efficient, and high-quality software solutions that power the next generation of building automation and digital products. As a Software Tools Engineering Intern, you will work closely with product managers, software developers, and quality engineers to help design, build, and validate software that meets customer needs. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience across the full development stack-including backend API development, front-end UI work, automation testing, and quality engineering practices. You will work in a modern agile environment using industry-standard tools, frameworks, and cloud-based services. This position is located in Glendale, WI. How you will do it: Work part-time during the school year (8-16 hours/week) or full-time during summer (up to 40 hours/week). Collaborate with developers and QA engineers to implement, enhance, and test software features. Contribute to both backend APIs and front-end UI development using modern frameworks. Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and sprint ceremonies. Assist in writing automation tests to improve coverage, reliability, and delivery efficiency. Support quality initiatives by helping identify defects, validate functionality, and ensure alignment with product requirements.
