Our customer base includes cement manufacturers, paper mills and various other mineral and chemical processing companies located in all parts of the United States. Your responsibilities Position Overview: thyssenkrupp Polysius North America, Inc. is currently seeking a first shift setup welder in our Milwaukee, WI location. The overall objective of this position is to fit and weld together fabricated components from flat plate and structural shapes into machinery frames, planetary coolers, round shells, and miscellaneous other fabrications. Materials include mild and stainless steel up to 5 inches thick. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Setup components by layout, fitting, welding, and cleaning to create finished weldments. This includes reading and interpretation of engineering drawings, tolerances, and welding symbols. Flux core and submerged arc welding. Performing self-inspection of your work. Using overhead and/or jib/pedestal cranes, forklifts, man-lifts, pneumatic tools, hydraulic tools, hand tools and torches as required. Perform all duties in a safe manner utilizing all required PPE being constantly aware of others in the work area. Interface effectively with coworkers in a manufacturing environment. Must be willing and able to work overtime as needed to meet customer commitments. Demonstrate a commitment to safety.
