Job Summary

The Material Expeditor - Assembly position supports production operations through efficient material handling, including receiving and distributing incoming materials, preparing and delivering parts for work orders, and maintaining accurate inventory flow throughout the assembly areas. Responsibilities include setting up and organizing job carts, restocking assembly benches, and assisting with assembly setup and teardown to ensure smooth, continuous production.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up job carts for work orders to ensure efficient material flow throughout production.

  • Restock assembly benches with required parts and materials to support continuous operations.

  • Utilize computer systems to print labels, verify and update inventory locations, monitor stock levels, and maintain accurate records.

  • Transport incoming materials to designated storage or production areas on the shop floor.

  • Move finished goods from assembly to shipping areas, ensuring accurate placement and organization.

  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment to move and stage products.

  • Perform assembly tasks as needed to maintain production workflow.

  • Provide backup support for shipping and receiving operations, including order picking, pallet preparation, and arranging small parcel and truck freight.

  • Train other team members as needed.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

  • Adhere to attendance policies, ensuring punctuality and reliability in reporting for shifts.

  • Comply with all safety regulations and protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Participate in training sessions and safety meetings.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or material handling environment.

  • Experience operating hand tools, power tools, and pallet jacks.

  • Proficient in operating standup forklift.

  • Familiarity with shipping software, inventory management systems, and barcode scanning equipment preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated computer literacy, including the ability to navigate inventory and production systems.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and inventory accuracy.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

    Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds - Occasionally (15-45%)

  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods (up to 10 hours) - Continuously (over 75%)

  • Manual dexterity for manipulating tools, parts, and equipment - Occasionally (15-45%)

  • Ability to use hands and fingers for tasks such as labeling, scanning, sorting, and assembling - Frequently (50-75%)
