Job Title: Engineering Manager- Manufacturing & Test Engineering
Job Description
We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and supervise the Manufacturing Engineering, Test Engineering, Maintenance & Equipment Engineering, and NPI support teams. The successful candidate will provide direction, coaching, and performance management for engineering staff while ensuring production systems, fixtures, and validation processes are supported and improved.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise Manufacturing Engineering, Test Engineering, Maintenance & Equipment Engineering, and NPI support teams.
Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and performance management for engineering staff.
Support and improve production test systems, fixtures, and validation processes.
Drive yield improvement and defect reduction through structured root cause analysis.
Ensure NPI builds are properly supported and transitioned into stable production.
Oversee equipment reliability and preventive maintenance coordination.
Identify and implement practical process improvements to improve efficiency and quality.
Monitor manufacturing and test data to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Supply Chain to resolve operational issues.
Support capital equipment justification and implementation as needed.
Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO, ITAR, and company policies.
Manage departmental budgets within approved limits.
Essential Skills
Strong experience in Manufacturing Test Engineering within a production manufacturing environment.
Experience supporting complex, multi-step production processes such as assembly, fabrication, or high-mix manufacturing.
Knowledge of functional test, ICT, validation processes, and failure analysis.
Demonstrated ability to improve yield and production performance.
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills.
Effective team leadership and cross-functional communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience within a production manufacturing environment, including direct leadership or supervisory responsibility.
Experience supporting production test environments and NPI transitions.
Work Environment
The work environment involves managing various engineering teams and collaborating cross-functionally to resolve operational issues. The role requires compliance with industry standards such as AS9100, ISO, and ITAR, ensuring adherence to company policies. The position also includes overseeing equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, and managing departmental budgets.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Milwaukee, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $165000.00/yr.
This position is performed on-site in a manufacturing environment. The employee may be exposed to noise, fumes, moving machinery, and temperature variations consistent with an electronics production facility. Attendance and in-person collaboration are essential functions of this role.
