Brady Corporation Director of Global Product Management, VWS in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
What We Need:
The Director of Global Visual Workplace Safety (VWS) Product Management is responsible for leading a team of Product Managers who own the strategy, development, and commercial execution of Brady's global VWS portfolio — spanning physical safety products (signs, floor marking, pipe markers, LOTO), digital safety solutions, and safety services. This individual partners closely with R&D, Operations, Sales, and regional commercial teams to translate customer and market needs into a differentiated, scalable product portfolio sold primarily through distribution partners and Brady's direct eCommerce brands. This position is also responsible for managing our Field Service Engineering team across the U.S.
What You'll Be Doing:
Identify Opportunities: Lead Product Managers to actively identify growth opportunities across physical, digital, and services-based safety solutions. Maintain a well-documented, prioritized portfolio of new product opportunities — balancing quick wins in distribution channels with longer-horizon digital and services plays.
Product Strategy: Own the global VWS product roadmap, aligning physical and digital safety offerings with Brady's overall business strategy. Drive portfolio decisions that reflect both distributor partner dynamics and direct eCommerce channel requirements.
Channel & Customer Engagement: Develop deep understanding of distribution partner needs alongside end- customer safety requirements. Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to build compelling business cases and ensure product-channel fit.
Digital & Services Expansion: Drive the evolution of the VWS portfolio beyond physical products into software, digital safety workflows, and safety services — identifying adjacent opportunities and building the business case for investment.
Product Culture: Serve as a champion for rigorous product management discipline across the VWS organization, fostering cross-functional alignment with engineering, operations, marketing, and regional commercial teams.
Field Service Engineering: Lead and develop team of Field Service Engineers across the U.S., driving operational excellence by optimizing territory management, ensuring rapid technical response times, and maintaining high customer satisfaction standards for on-site installations and repairs.
Lead the Product & Field Service Engineering Teams: Mentor and develop a team of Technical Product Managers, helping them build expertise in safety markets, channel dynamics, and product lifecycle management.
Contribute to Product Leadership: As a key member of the Global product leadership team, align VWS product strategy with Brady's broader portfolio vision and global growth priorities.
What You Will Need To Be Successful:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is required, with a strong preference for candidates from an engineering background. MBA is a plus.
Minimum of 8 years of product management experience, with demonstrated success managing both hardware/physical products and software or services-based offerings.
Minimum of 2 years leading or mentoring Product Managers, ideally in a mid-sized industrial or B2B company ($500M–$5B).
Experience in safety, compliance, or industrial markets strongly preferred; familiarity with workplace safety regulations (OSHA, ANSI, ISO) is a meaningful differentiator.
Proven ability to manage a complex, multi-channel portfolio — with hands-on experience working with distribution partners and direct/eCommerce channels.
Strong commercial instincts: understands P&L drivers, pricing strategy, and the economic dynamics of distribution-led versus direct business models.
Track record of successful product launches across the full lifecycle — from market exploration and requirements definition through global rollout and commercial execution.
Experience driving digital product development (SaaS, software tools, digital workflows) alongside physical product lines.
Exceptional communicator — able to influence and align across technical teams, commercial leaders, regional presidents, and distribution partners.
