We are seeking a seasoned Commodity Manager to join our global procurement team on a full-time basis. This management-level role is designed for a professional with deep expertise in polymers, resins, and recycled materials. You will be responsible for the long-term strategic direction of the category, driving sourcing excellence, supplier relationship management, and sustained cost optimization across our manufacturing sites and global supplier network.
How you will do it
Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
Market Intelligence: Monitor global market trends, price indices, and cost drivers specifically within the polymers and resins sector to inform procurement strategies.
Category Strategy: Create and redefine long-term procurement strategies that mitigate supply chain risk and maximize value for the organization.
Strategic Sourcing : Lead high-stakes negotiations with resin and polymer manufacturers to secure optimal pricing, favorable terms, and long-term supply assurance.
Agreement Development: Structure and finalize robust supplier agreements in close collaboration with leadership, legal, and finance teams.
Stakeholder & Supply Chain Integration
External Liaison: Act as the primary interface between Clarios and our network of poly recyclers, compounders, and third-party suppliers.
Internal Collaboration: Partner directly with Clarios manufacturing sites to ensure seamless supply chain integration and operational alignment.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead initiatives with engineering, sales, and quality teams to successfully introduce new materials into the product portfolio.
Material Optimization: Coordinate with cross-functional teams to adjust or substitute materials in existing products to improve performance or cost.
Performance, Data & Analytics
Supplier Performance Management: Support suppliers in meeting rigorous performance targets, focusing specifically on quality standards and on-time delivery.
KPI Development: Design and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement across the supply base.
Reporting & Dashboards: Develop and maintain advanced dashboards to track real-time supplier performance, savings, and compliance metrics.
Financial Analytics: Provide data-driven insights to track sustained cost-saving initiatives and verify total landed cost reductions.
Cost Management & Compliance
Cost Savings Initiatives: Proactively identify and "unlock" new cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing and process improvements.
Landed Cost Reduction: Execute strategies aimed at reducing the total landed cost of materials throughout the end-to-end supply chain.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities and contracts adhere to company policies, audit controls, and international regulatory requirements.
Records Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract documentation to always ensure audit readiness.
What we look for
Required
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of procurement experience, with a specific focus on commodity management
Track Record: Proven success in contract negotiation, complex supplier management, and significant cost-savings delivery.
High proficiency in procurement analytics (Excel, ERP systems, e-sourcing platforms).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and work effectively with global, diverse teams.
Preferred
Direct experience with poly recyclers, compounders, and resin manufacturing operations.
A background in the automotive industry.
Familiarity with sustainability initiatives and responsible sourcing within the polymers sector.
