Job Title: 1st shift Machinist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Machinist to set up and operate various CNC machines, ensuring precision and quality. This role involves performing quality checks, using measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers, and conducting first piece inspections. The ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions is essential.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC machines, including mills and lathes.
Conduct full machine set-up, including changing jaws, tooling, and tool touching off.
Select programs from the library and follow provided setup sheets for all parts.
Perform in-process inspections using gages to ensure tolerances of .002 to .005, with some bearing turns and pockets requiring .0005 precision.
Handle short runs and small batch production, with most orders under 30 pieces.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in operating CNC machines, mills, and lathes.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and written instructions.
Experience in manual machining.
Knowledge of CNC machining processes.
Familiarity with conducting in-process inspections.

Work Environment
Work in a typical manufacturing facility that is well-lit but not climate controlled. The standard work hours are Monday to Friday, starting from 7:00 am, with potential for overtime.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
