Practical Nursing Program Instructor:

The Central Susquehanna IU (CSIU) is accepting applications for a part time position primarily in the Central Susquehanna LPN Career Center, Milton, PA.  The Practical Nursing Program Instructor works with career center staff to plan, deliver, and participate in the evaluation of the practical nursing program curriculum. The instructor also supervises students in the clinical, laboratory, and classroom settings. In addition, it develops and implements course outlines, lesson plans, tests, and examinations to meet the academic and behavioral objectives of the practical nursing program.  

 

Hourly wage = $30.00 -- 40.00 dependent on education and qualifications. The part time non-exempt, non-benefits eligible position works up to 29 hours per day, 250 days per year, following a Monday-Friday schedule. No weekends or holidays.

 

Education, skills and experience requirements include:

  • The minimum requirement is graduation from an approved school of professional nursing; a Master's degree, preferably in nursing, is preferred. Will consider a Bachelor's degree with a commitment to complete a Master's in Nursing (MSN) degree within a determined amount of time. Proof of MSN credits completion will be required and reported annually to the Director of the CSLPN Career Center until the degree is received.

``` - Current Pennsylvania licensure as a registered nurse. - Two (2) years' experience in a nursing experience involving direct patient care or teaching nursing required. - Evidence of maintaining expertise in clinical and functional areas of responsibility. - Positive attitude toward practical nursing and its relationship to others on the health care team; ability to adapt to program changes for the improvement of the program curriculum and operation.  - Requires the ability to develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships using tact and diplomacy and to remain calm in unpredictable situations.  - Ability to communicate and work effectively with colleagues, co-workers and community agency personnel. - Excellent organizational and time management skills.
