About the Role
The Senior Manager, Wardrobe Operations reports directly to the Director, Wardrobe Operations based in the NYC HQ and works with them to oversee Wardrobe Operations based in the UK. This includes anything from theme parks, cruise ships, and one-off events. They will oversee and work with a Manager, Wardrobe Operations based out of a local resort and will work with them to ensure creatively accurate and timely delivery of all projects based out of the UK offices. The ideal candidate will have experience working with costume shops on large scale, IP specific builds, be a strong communicator, and have experience with budgeting/working on a tight budget and even tighter timelines. Experience in touring, theme parks, or cruise ships is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Works with Creative to solidify scope and plan of all projects
Responsible for spear heading New Build projects
- Gives direction on New Build designs, fabrics, styles, directs Coordinator, Costume Design and Logistics in sourcing, fabric swatching
- Ensures all paperwork is created, and maintained until project moves to “ongoing operation
- Oversees and maintains budget
- Collaborates with Shops on any new build items
Reports to and works with Director, Wardrobe to coordinate project scheduling/time management for Managers, Wardrobe
Weekly check ins with costume shops or vendors to ensure builds are being completed as directed
Works with Wardrobe Managers and Project Managers to maintain daily operations for projects in all ongoing operations
Attend weekly production meetings
Performs fittings to oversee and maintain design integrity throughout fittings
Designs and approves replacement items and works with shops throughout the build process
Orders shoes, performer supplies and any other wardrobe related show needs
Tracks and maintains show budget
Works directly with external costume shops to ensure quality control and timely delivery
Seeks out and works with external vendors, designers, and costumes shops
Oversees project pack outs and delivery
Travels to ships/venues and installs as needed
Sewing, crafting, millenary, wigs and make up as needed
Design as needed
Variable hours pending project needs
Qualifications & Skills:
3-5 years wardrobe/costuming experience in theatre, touring, cruise ships, theme parks or similar
Touring, theme parks, or cruise ship experience is preferred
Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
Detail oriented
Strong organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication
Can prioritize and balance multiple projects at one time
Fittings, alterations, and working with performers of all body type, gender, and ethnicities
Experience working with costume designers and build shops
