Job Title: Quality Inspector

Job Description

As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting detailed inspections to ensure the highest quality standards of materials and products. You will perform appearance inspections according to general and project-specific standards for plastics, hardware, and PCBs. You will also conduct dimensional inspections using tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges, as well as hardness tests with the appropriate equipment. Your role will include assembly inspections and approving labels, boxes, and packaging materials. You will manage non-conforming materials, perform AQL inspections, and ensure compliance with quality control standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct appearance inspections following general plastic, hardware, PCB, and project-specific standards.

  • Perform dimensional inspections based on provided drawings and specifications using tools such as calipers and micrometers.

  • Execute hardness tests for materials with specific hardness requirements using hardness agents.

  • Perform assembly inspections through simulated physical assembly with packaging products.

  • Inspect and approve labels, boxes, code dates, and packaging materials.

  • Place non-conforming materials and products on hold and manage releases to MRB.

  • Perform AQL inspections to ensure quality standards are met.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in PCB, blueprint, and circuit board inspection and quality control.

  • Experience with mechanical inspection and ability to interpret boards and defects.

  • IPC610 certification (preferred for two candidates).

  • Experience with AOI machine operation, cabling, surface mount, and PCB assembly.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Attention to detail and technical skills to understand blueprints, documents, and manuals.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or related experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an IQA inspector in an electronics manufacturing environment is preferable.

  • Knowledge of basic math and computer skills.

  • Ability to influence others to follow rules and regulations.

  • Strong leadership skills and teamwork mentality.

  • Verbal and written communication skills.

  • Dexterity, physical strength, and stamina.

  • Familiarity with IPC-610 and IPC-600 standards is preferred.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milpitas, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.40 - $38.28/hr.
