Actalent Senior Chemist in Milford, Ohio
Description
Apply advanced chemical and materials science knowledge to solve complex formulation, performance, and processing challenges
Design, plan, and execute laboratory experiments supporting new product development and technology advancement
Lead technical work packages within larger development programs, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met
Support troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities for products that have transitioned to commercialization
Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and document findings to support technical decisions
Review and apply scientific literature to guide research direction and innovation opportunities
Communicate technical findings clearly to internal stakeholders, including cross‑functional and global partners
Ensure all laboratory work is performed in compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Limited travel may be required to support collaboration or technology transfer activities (<10%)
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related discipline
Strong foundational knowledge across multiple chemistry disciplines (e.g., organic, inorganic, physical, polymer, or materials chemistry)
Demonstrated ability to independently design experiments and drive technical problem solving
Proven experience managing technical aspects of multiple projects simultaneously
Strong data analysis, documentation, and scientific communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in coatings, polymers, or formulated materials
Background in reaction optimization, process development, or scale‑up support
Familiarity with regulated manufacturing or commercial product support environments

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milford, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
