Job Title: Packaging Machine Operator (2nd or 3rd Shift)
Location: Milford, CT
Pay: $26.20/hour
Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours/week)
2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:30 PM – 11:30 PM
3rd Shift: Sunday–Thursday, 11:30 PM – 7:30 AM
Position Overview
We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Packaging Machine Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will operate and monitor automated packaging equipment, ensure product quality, and support efficient, safe production processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operate automated packaging machinery in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines
Maintain continuous production by supplying machines with materials and components
Perform product changeovers and verify accuracy of bills of materials
Troubleshoot minor machine issues and escalate mechanical problems to maintenance as needed
Conduct routine quality checks and accurately complete production and shift documentation
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area through daily housekeeping tasks
Track and record production data, inventory usage, and operational performance
Collaborate with team members, maintenance, and leadership to meet production goals
Support additional packaging and production tasks as assigned
Work overtime or weekends as needed and remain flexible with shift assignments
Requirements
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards
Ability to understand and follow detailed written and verbal instructions
Willingness to train and qualify on multiple packaging machines and equipment
Consistent record of safety, attendance, and job performance
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
Effective communication skills across teams and departments
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Prior experience operating high-speed automated production or packaging equipment preferred
