Summary We are seeking a reliable and dedicated individual to fill the role of Custodian. This position is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The Substitute Custodian will step in as needed to perform custodial duties, ensuring that facilities are well-maintained and adhere to health and safety standards.
Responsibilities - Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing various areas of the facility. - Clean and restock restrooms, ensuring they are hygienic and well-maintained. - Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste appropriately. - Assist with the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for events and activities. - Report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate personnel. - Follow established procedures for cleaning and maintaining equipment and supplies. - Adhere to all safety and health regulations, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment. - Work collaboratively with other staff members to support the overall cleanliness and functionality of the facility. - Be available to work on short notice and cover shifts as needed.
Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent. - Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a plus but not mandatory. - Ability to follow instructions and perform tasks with minimal supervision. - Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness. - Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. - Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, as well as safety procedures. - Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. - Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
