  • Reporting to the Head of Global Cargo Sales, the role is responsible for managing American Airlines Cargo’s Global and Key Account Portfolios, developing and implementing strategic sales initiatives in order to meet Cargo Division revenue goals, departmental objectives and corporate marketing initiatives.

  • The person will Interface with, and make presentations to, the senior leadership team within American Airlines Cargo and American Airlines International Division, as well as to the senior management teams of large, multinational forwarders and will represent American at various Cargo Industry events.

  • The role requires close cooperation across the Cargo team, including Revenue Management, Operations, Strategy, Sales and Customer Experience teams in order to ensure that we meet the goals of the Cargo Division as well as the global needs of our customers.

  • The role is a part of the Global & Key Accounts team within our Cargo group.

What you'll do

  • Defining and evolving our sales strategy for our Global and Key Accounts and Mail customers

  • Managing a geographically diverse team of direct reports which consists of Global Account Managers (L4)

  • Coordinating our sales approach to Global and Key Accounts plus Mail customers with our Field Sales team

  • Establishing relationships with senior leadership team of our Global and Key Accounts

  • Negotiating annual incentives

  • Representing the interests of our customers and the Sales Organization in various projects

  • Collaborating with the Field Sales teams, Sales Planning & Analysis, Strategy Delivery and with Cargo Revenue Management to manage the evolving needs of our customers, including working together to create meaningful proposals to Global and Regional RFQ’s.

  • Working with the Cargo Operations team to provide strategic service delivery

  • The role will require up to 50 percent of travel (including international).

  • Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent experience

  • 7+ years of relevant experience

  • Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Prior experience of managing teams

  • Demonstrated success in managing commercial relationships.

  • Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, negotiating and analytical skills required.

  • The ability to handle multiple initiatives at the same time.

  • The ability to work with a range of different departments within AA.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills that will enable our team members to achieve results and professional development.

  • Caring leader that values team collaboration.
