Senior Services On-Call Seasons Transportation Driver in Midland, Michigan
TITLE: On-Call Seasons Transportation Driver
QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Michigan driver's license, chauffeur's license, and excellent driving record. Ability to provide door-to-door assistance to riders (60 years of age and older) including those using mobility devices (walker, wheelchair, cane, oxygen, electric wheelchair). Friendly, cheerful, and patient demeanor.
JOB GOALS: Provide safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation for participants of Seasons Adult Day Health Services to and from the Seasons Center, while promoting the programs and positive image of Senior Services.
REPORTS TO: Seasons Program Director
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Daily Preparation a. Report to the Seasons office 30 minutes before your first scheduled pick up to obtain your route sheet, schedule, cell phone, and vehicle key. b. Conduct a vehicle inspection before and after use; report any damage or maintenance needs. c. Check the fuel level and refuel at the City Garage if below half a tank. 2. Transportation Duties a. Safely transport clients according to the assigned schedule and route sheet. b. Provide door-to-door assistance, including help with mobility devices as needed. c. Ensure all clients are safely delivered to their destinations and returned home as scheduled. 3. Communication and Reporting a. Immediately report to the Seasons Program Director any client exhibiting unusual behavior, or any transportation concerns. b. Report accidents or emergencies by calling 911 and notifying the Senior Services Transportation office. 4. Documentation a. Complete and sign the route sheet verifying all clients have been transported as scheduled. b. Return all materials (vehicle key, schedule, route sheet, and phone) to the Seasons office after your shift.
- Professional Conduct a. Maintain a dependable work ethic and adhere to agreed-upon schedules; call ahead if delayed or needing to reschedule. b. Interact with clients courteously, showing empathy and patience while following diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.
c. Uphold confidentiality and safety at all times per Senior Services policies and procedures. d. Wear the issued Senior Services ID badge while on duty. e. Comply with all Department of Motor Vehicles laws and regulations. f. Successfully pass driving and criminal background checks. g. Perform other duties as assigned.
