Aerotek Journeyman Electrician in Midland, Michigan

Job Title: Journeyman Electrician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman or Master Service Technician who will maintain a current electrician’s license to comply with governmental regulations. The ideal candidate will provide customers with prompt and professional service, assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical wiring and fixtures using hand and power tools. The role involves testing electrical systems and the continuity of circuits to ensure compatibility and safety. Additionally, the technician will be responsible for submitting complete work orders, maintaining inventory, and coordinating tasks with project managers.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.

  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits to ensure compatibility and safety.

  • Submit complete work orders, packing slips, time cards, and receipts to the office daily.

  • Maintain proper inventory on service trucks and keep them organized.

  • Operate and maintain company truck and tooling professionally.

  • Coordinate and schedule work with the Account or Project Manager.

  • Ensure safe working conditions and enforce safety regulations.

  • Purchase materials and equipment necessary for performing duties.

  • Contact customers for needed clarification and coordination of requirements.

  • Plan and execute tasks as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of electrician experience in commercial or industrial settings.

  • Current and valid Journeyman or Master Electrician license through the State of MI.

  • Experience with high voltage systems, at least up to 480 volts.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical systems.

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to provide own transportation to job sites.

  • Customer service experience for service candidates.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience leading crews or running jobs.

  • Foreman experience.

  • Controls experience.

  • Experience with industrial controls.

Work Environment

The work environment includes new build sites and servicing industrial/commercial sites in areas such as Midland, Bay City, Saginaw, Flint, Lansing, Clare, Hemlock, and Beaverton. The role typically operates on the first shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with an expectation of 40-50 hours per week. Various shift configurations may apply, including five 8-hour shifts and some weekend shifts.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Midland, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.00/hr.
