About the Role

The Electromechanical Design Engineer designs, develops, tests, and supports integrated electronic and mechanical systems for precision laboratory instrumentation. The role combines analog/digital circuit design, PCB layout, circuit simulation, and component selection with mechanical prototyping, system integration, and technical drawings. Emphasis is placed on reliability, safety, and compliance with industry standards. Working closely with engineers, developers, technicians, and scientists, this position contributes to innovative, high-performance tools that advance research and diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities:

Creating and testing electrical circuits for new products or systems, ensuring they meet safety and functionality standards.

Designing electrical and mechanical systems for machinery, considering efficiency, cost, and safety.

Using computer-aided design (CAD) software to design mechanical and electrical systems.

Choosing mechanical and electrical components based on project specifications.

Building and testing prototypes of systems or devices to evaluate performance and identify potential issues.

Identifying and resolving electrical issues during development or in existing systems.

Using simulation software to predict how electrical systems will perform under different conditions.

Working with other engineers, designers, and stakeholders to ensure a smooth workflow and alignment on project goals.

Maintaining clear and accurate documentation of design specifications, test results, and updates.

Diagnosing and fixing electrical failures or malfunctions in equipment or systems.

Recommending and implementing system upgrades to improve efficiency, performance, and safety.

Ensuring designs and installations comply with local, national, and international electrical codes and regulations (e.g., IEEE, NEC).
