Job Title: Construction Welder
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Construction Welder to join our team. The role involves inspecting and repairing various metal structures such as handrails, catwalks, guard rails, platforms, and staircases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cutting metal materials to length, operating overhead cranes and forklifts, welding and fabricating prototypes, and assisting with new construction projects.
Responsibilities
Inspect and repair handrails, catwalks, guard rails, platforms, and staircases.
Run the saw and cut different metal materials to length.
Operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
Welding and fabrication of prototype and repair projects.
Assist iron crews with onsite welding for new construction.
Obtain necessary work permits.
Fit and assemble metal parts from prototype prints to finished projects.
Read and interpret drawings to verify all parts match specifications.
Conduct job walks and provide design solutions for customers.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in Mig welding, fabrication, and blueprint reading.
Experience in structural steel fabrication and metal cutting.
Ability to perform iron work, including framing and erecting.
Skilled in operating grinders and saws.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience maintaining alloy vehicles.
Ability to determine tool and equipment needs.
Availability for on-call rotation.
Construction experience, with expertise in prototype solutions for customers.
Experience in iron work and Pre-Engineered Metal Building divisions.

Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Midland, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
