Arnold Center, INC Behavioral Technician (BT) in Midland, Michigan
Summary:
Behavioral Technician provides direct support and behavioral interventions to individuals with behavioral challenges, under the supervision of a certified behavioral analyst. The BT will work with clients primarily diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders and related developmental disabilities in a variety of settings, including clinics, schools, and client homes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Behavioral Support: Implement individualized treatment plans designed to address specific behaviors, assist with skills acquisition, and improve overall functioning under the guidance of a supervisor.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Accurately collect data on client behaviors, interventions, and outcomes to support the ongoing evaluation of treatment effectiveness.
- Client Interaction: Engage clients through therapeutic activities and interventions that promote positive behavior change.
- Progress Documentation: Maintain detailed notes and records on client progress and session details to ensure continuity of care and compliance with treatment protocols.
- Crisis Management: Employ de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies as needed, ensuring client and staff safety.
- Family and Caregiver Support: Provide guidance and support to families and caregivers, demonstrating techniques that can be applied outside of therapy sessions.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with healthcare professionals, educators, and other team members to deliver holistic and consistent care across all environments.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training sessions and professional development courses to enhance skills and maintain current knowledge of best practices in behavioral health.
- Able to communicate expressively & receptively in order to follow IPOS requirements, emergency procedures, and report on activities performed.

Work Environment:
This role involves working in multiple environments, including clinics, educational institutions, and client homes. The RBT must be adaptable to the changing needs and locations of clients.
