About the Role

This position sits at the center of advanced industrial automationoperations and is responsible for keeping highly automated equipment runningsafely, reliably, and at peak performance. As a Mechatronics and RoboticsTechnician, you will serve as a front line technical expert supportingintegrated mechanical, electrical, and controls based systems that power alarge scale fulfillment and distribution environment.

You will work across interconnected automation platforms thatinclude conveyor networks, robotic handling systems, automated packagingequipment, and sensor driven control systems. The role requires practicaltroubleshooting depth across electrical, mechanical, and controls layers, notjust component swap outs. You will be expected to diagnose failure modes, tracesignals, validate device behavior, and restore system functionality withminimal supervision.

The role goes beyond routine maintenance. You will independentlyinvestigate faults, isolate root causes, and execute corrective repairs acrossrobotic cells, automated conveyance, sortation equipment, drives, and smartsensing devices. You will regularly work inside control enclosures, onenergized and de-energized equipment following safety procedure, and alongsidelive operations teams where response time and technical accuracy matter.

What You Will Own and Deliver

  • Restore failed automation and robotic systems to operational condition through structured troubleshooting

  • Take technical ownership of assigned equipment zones and critical assets

  • Execute both planned and corrective maintenance with high documentation accuracy

  • Identify repeat failure patterns and recommend reliability improvements

  • Support rapid response repair activity during operational events and unplanned downtime

  • Maintain readiness of critical spare parts, tools, and test equipment

  • Provide technical feedback to reliability and engineering partners on recurring failure points

Core Technical Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot electro mechanical failures across automated material handling, robotic, and packaging systems

  • Perform structured fault isolation using multimeters, clamp meters, and basic diagnostic tools

  • Trace control circuits using electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, and point to point wiring prints

  • Diagnose device level faults on PLC controlled equipment including sensors, inputs, outputs, and actuators

  • Replace and recommission field devices including photo eyes, proximity sensors, encoders, solenoids, and limit switches

  • Inspect and repair mechanical power transmission components including chains, sprockets, belts, pulleys, couplings, and bearings

  • Service motors and drives including motor starters, contactors, overloads, and variable frequency drives

  • Validate safety circuits including e stops, light curtains, interlocks, and guard switches

  • Perform alignment, tensioning, and timing adjustments on high speed conveyor and sortation equipment

  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance tasks using task standards and tolerance ranges

  • Capture failure codes, device states, and repair actions in CMMS with clear technical notes

Systems and Technology Exposure

Technicians in this role regularly work with:

  • High speed conveyor and sortation systems including merges, diverts, transfers, and accumulation zones

  • Robotic handling and automated workstations such as pick modules, palletizing cells, or guided automation platforms

  • PLC based control systems at the field device level including input and output devices and control panels

  • Motor control systems including starters, contactors, overload protection, and variable speed drives

  • Electrical distribution panels and low voltage industrial control circuits

  • Pneumatic systems including valves, cylinders, regulators, and air preparation units

  • Hydraulic components where installed, including actuators and control valves

  • Industrial safety systems including guarded zones, interlock circuits, and emergency stop networks

  • Smart sensors including photoelectric, inductive, capacitive, and barcode based detection devices

  • Maintenance and asset tracking platforms such as CMMS for work orders and asset history

What You’ll Need

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

  • 1 year of related experience and/or training.

  • Proficiency using computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).

  • Experience using powered or non-powered hand tools.

  • Ability to solve problems and carry out general instructions in standard situations such as; routine maintenance, repairs, preventative measures, emergency responses, coordination, and safety compliance.

  • Ability to move up to 50lbs and physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, and climbing stairs / ladders with or without reasonable accommodation.

PreferredQualifications

  • Associate’s or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the mechanical or electrical field.

  • 2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

  • Experience with MHE safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Safety standards.

  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • 2+ years' experience with automated conveyor systems and controls.

  • 2+ years' experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.

  • 2+ years of blueprint and electrical schematic reading

  • 2+ year of knowledge with electrical and electronic principles

  • 2+ year experience of following and demonstrating safety standards

  • 1+ year experience in troubleshooting and diagnostics of MHE systems
