Job Summary
This job is in the Plant family (Department), which includes positions responsible for supervising or performing metals processing and distribution work. Work includes specialized equipment operation and/or supporting functions and requires a practical knowledge of the nature and operations and the materials, facilities and methods employed by Phoenix Metals in metals processing and distribution.

Function in the Job
Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Job Function
Operates overhead crane to safely move coils throughout the facility.
Loads and unloads coils from trucks in a timely and efficient matter.
Supplies and removes coils from the Cut-to-Length machine to support production needs.
Accurately documents coils into inventory using the company's inventory system.
Verifies coil identification, weights, and specifications before movement or processing.
Performs routine equipment inspections to ensure the crane is in safe working condition.
Maintains a clean and organized work area, reporting any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or discrepancies in inventory to management.
Completes work order paperwork/documentation.
Responsible for adhering to/ensuring compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.
Required Skills
2-5 years of experience operating overhead cranes required.
2-5 years of forklift operating experience.
High School diploma/GED preferred.
Warehousing and material handling experience preferred.
Experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting metal working machines preferred.
Ability to show adequate manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination required.
Ability to read and comprehend written instructions as applied to work situations required.
Basic measurement skills, including taking, converting, and/or using measurements of length, width, height, and weight to perform basic math computations correctly required.
Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions required.
Basic computer proficiency and working knowledge of software applications required.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively required.
Ability to make sound decisions based on a combination of factors including knowledge, experience, and judgment required.
Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with supervisors and co-workers required.
Strong communications skills required.
Ability to work independently and take initiative required.
