Job Title: General Production Worker
Job Description
The General Production Worker supports metal fabrication operations by performing spot welding, powder coating, and general production tasks according to detailed work instructions. This role helps ensure high-quality welds and finished parts, maintains a clean and safe work area, and contributes to efficient production in a warehouse and fabrication environment.
Responsibilities
Spot weld parts according to established work instructions and quality standards.
Apply powder coating to parts following specified procedures and work instructions.
Perform visual and basic dimensional inspections to monitor and verify weld quality.
Dress and maintain weld tips to ensure consistent weld performance.
Use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively as part of daily production tasks.
Handle, move, and package sheet metal components and finished products as needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and clutter-free work area throughout the shift.
Follow all safety protocols, guidelines, and procedures at all times.
Identify and report any equipment issues, quality concerns, or safety hazards promptly.
Collaborate with team members and support other stages of the production process as required.
Essential Skills
Ability to follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures.
Willingness to learn every part of the production process from start to finish.
Comfort working in a general labor and production role in a warehouse or fabrication environment.
Ability to work with sheet metal components safely and accurately.
Capability to use power tools and hand tools in a safe and controlled manner.
Strong attention to detail when inspecting and monitoring weld quality.
Commitment to maintaining a clean work environment and adhering to safety protocols.
Reliability, punctuality, and consistent work ethic in a production setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with stick welding is a plus.
Previous experience in metal fabrication or production is beneficial.
Interest in developing skills in manufacturing and welding.
Ability to learn new techniques through hands-on training and coaching.

Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middletown, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
