CITY OF MIDDLETON Building Inspection Manager in MIDDLETON, Wisconsin
JOB REQUIREMENTS: The City of Middleton is seeking a Building Inspection Manager to lead our Inspection Division and play a key role in guiding safe, high-quality development across our community. This position blends technical expertise, leadership, and customer serviceworking with contractors, developers, residents, and City staff to ensure projects move forward efficiently and while meeting all applicable codes and standards. What you\'ll do: - Lead and oversee building, HVAC, electrical, and property maintenance inspections - Review plans, permits, and specifications for code compliance - Conduct field inspections on residential and commercial projects - Interpret and enforce local, state, and federal building codes - Supervise and support Inspection Division staff Manage division budget and provide input on permit fee structures - Work directly with developers, contractors, and residents to guide projects - Investigate complaints and ensure timely, fair resolution - Maintain accurate inspection and enforcement records ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: - Associate degree in construction management, building inspection, engineering, or related field - 5+ years of experience in inspections, construction, or code enforcement - 2+ years of supervisory or lead experience - Valid driver\'s license Required certifications at hire: - UDC Commercial Building Inspector or - Construction Inspector (with commercial endorsement) - UDC HVAC Inspector - Ability to obtain UDC Electrical Inspector certification within one year - Preferred: Plan Review Certification ***** APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Apply Online: https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/middletonwi/jobs/5308088/building-inspection-manager?pagetype=jobOpportunitiesJobs
