Pay rate: $28/hr.
Location: Middlesex County, MA
Job type: 3–4-month contract (possibility of extension)
Position Overview
The Lab Resource Coordinator supports scientific teams by managing laboratory operations, resources, and safety compliance. This role ensures efficient lab workflows, proper equipment usage, and adherence to protocols, while assisting with general lab tasks and training.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary contact for scientific teams regarding day-to-day lab needs.
Maintain inventory of lab supplies and equipment; coordinate replenishment as needed.
Organize and manage cold storage units, including fridges, -80°C freezers, and cryo storage.
Coordinate equipment calibration, tagging, maintenance, and repair requests.
Assist with upkeep and organization of shared lab spaces.
Act as safety representative, participate in walkthroughs, and support safety training for new hires.
Provide training on lab procedures and equipment usage.
Perform basic laboratory tasks under team lead guidance, including routine equipment checks and sample handling.
Contribute to lab decluttering, space optimization, and process improvements.
Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required; BA/BS in science preferred.
1–2 years of laboratory experience preferred; undergraduate lab work considered.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Knowledge of laboratory instruments and testing procedures.
Covid-19 vaccination required.
Ability to lift 25 lbs.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Professional, flexible, independent, and motivated.
Ability to follow protocols, safety procedures, and background/security requirements.
