Aerotek Quality Inspector in Middlebury, Connecticut

Job Title: Quality Inspector Job Description

As a Quality Inspector, you will be an integral part of the Engineering and Incoming Inspection department. Your primary responsibility will be to inspect incoming materials needed for unit assembly, ensuring they meet the engineering standards. Occasionally, you may also guide others in the inspection process. This role involves working in a typical manufacturing environment, requiring frequent lifting of materials up to 30 pounds. Safety equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and work boots may be necessary. Please note, loose-fitting clothing and jewelry are not permitted in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect materials required for assembling units.

  • Report any nonconformities to the Quality department.

  • Initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for nonconforming materials.

  • Maintain records in compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

  • Determine C=0 levels for components.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in inspection and quality control.

  • Ability to interpret blueprints and use micrometers.

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.

  • Manual dexterity for operating hand tools with good hand-eye coordination.

  • Capability to lift up to 30 pounds.

  • Basic computer skills in Windows applications.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Associate Technical degree or equivalent is a plus but not required.

  • Prior manufacturing experience.

  • Previous inspection experience is beneficial.

Work Environment

This position is based in Middlebury, CT, with working hours from Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm EST. The work setting is a typical manufacturing environment, where safety is a priority. Employees are required to wear appropriate safety equipment, and loose clothing or jewelry is not permitted.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middlebury, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
