Job Title: Machinist
Job Description
Join our manufacturing facility as a CNC operator, where you will work with both mills and lathes. You will primarily operate a cell consisting of three different machines, which may include a combination of mills, lathes, CNC saws, or broaches. Collaborate with your department and other colleagues to ensure the availability of raw materials needed for production. Your role will also involve conducting minor quality control on finished parts and performing first-piece inspections using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Responsibilities
Operate a cell consisting of three machines, such as mills, lathes, CNC saws, or broaches.
Work with department members and other facility personnel to secure necessary raw materials.
Conduct minor quality control checks and first-piece inspections using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Perform 1-3 setups per shift, with available assistance from team leaders.
Essential Skills
2+ years of CNC machining experience with mills or lathes.
Proven ability to perform offsets and tooling changes.
Ability to read and interpret in-depth blueprints with a strong understanding of GD&T.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
NIMS certifications would be beneficial.
Experience with HAAS machinery on the mill side is preferred.
Experience with Mori machinery on the lathe side is an asset.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Michigan City, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
