Job Title: Mechanical Assembly Technician

Job Description

The Mechanical Assembly Technician works in a manufacturing environment assembling machine components by following detailed prints and standard operating procedures. This role involves hands-on mechanical work, frequent use of hand and power tools, and close collaboration with team members and material handlers to ensure components are built accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble machine components by accurately following mechanical prints and standard operating procedures.

  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to build mechanical components.

  • Work within a team environment to assemble various subcomponents as part of larger machine builds.

  • Coordinate with material handlers to pick and stage parts and materials needed for each build.

  • Lift and move components and materials weighing up to 50 pounds as part of the assembly process.

  • Complete individual component builds that typically take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, maintaining quality and productivity standards.

  • Follow written and verbal instructions to ensure all assemblies meet required specifications.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety guidelines in the manufacturing environment.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of assembly or mechanical aptitude experience, such as building cars or working in a mechanical trade.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical prints and follow detailed directions.

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical components.

  • Proficiency using hand tools and basic power tools in an assembly setting.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and work instructions accurately.

  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate with other assemblers and material handlers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.

  • Familiarity with reading and following SOPs and work instructions.

  • Comfort working on components with build times of 45 minutes to 1 hour.

  • Strong attention to detail to ensure quality and consistency in assembled components.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing facility that is clean and equipped with fans, though it is not fully climate controlled. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with the possibility of staying late during the week and working approximately 4 hours on some Saturdays; there is no work on Sundays. Employees can expect to work about 5 to 10 hours of overtime per week, depending on production needs. The role is hands-on and physically active, involving regular lifting and the use of hand and power tools in a structured production setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
