CORE JOB SUMMARY
Molecular & Cellular Pharmacology has an exciting opportunity for a full time Post Doctoral Associate performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. Moreover, the Post Doctoral Associate promotes institutional recognition through literal contributions to the scientific community. The candidate will engage in cutting-edge research employing molecular and chemical biology techniques, including LC-MS metabolomics, flow cytometry, mouse model studies, genomics, proteomics and bioinformatics.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
The fellow will investigate the role of mitochondria in T cells and must have prior experience with mouse models and immunological techniques.
They will have the opportunity to learn and perform LC-MS metabolomics using the Thermo Orbitrap Exploris 240 Mass Spectrometer.
The fellow will contribute to innovative research using advanced molecular and cellular biology techniques, maintain a strong understanding of current principles, latest publications, methods, and advancements in the field.
Understand and interpret research protocols and ensure all research is conducted according to good research practices.
Will be responsible for preparing research reports and manuscripts for publication and for successfully completing assigned project(s).
The fellow should work independently, lead project(s), troubleshoot issues, present their work and train other lab members as part of their postdoctoral training.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
PhD, MD, or equivalent degree in a biomedical field
Certification and Licensing:

Required Qualifications:
Expertise in flow cytometry, immune phenotyping, mammalian cell culture, and a broad range of molecular and cellular biology techniques.
Hands-on experience with mouse models.
Strong ability to work independently and in a team, troubleshoot experimental challenges, and maintain attention to detail.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Past research experience in cancer metabolism or mitochondrial biology.
Experience with LC-MS-based metabolomics.
Familiarity with the Seahorse Extracellular Flux Analyzer and mitochondrial functional assays.
Experience in R programming, Illustrator and Prism.
