The position requires strong hands-on mechanical skills, the ability to work safely at heights and in outdoor conditions, and a commitment to accurate documentation of all completed work.
Responsibilities
Perform repairs and maintenance on mobile cement trucks and other diesel-powered vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Assist mechanics with maintenance and repair of various types of mobile equipment in the shop and, when needed, on public roadways.
Conduct preventative maintenance services, including changing brakes, oil, and filters, to maximize equipment availability and reduce downtime.
Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, suspensions, drive-train components, air conditioning systems, air brakes, and basic electrical systems (12V/24V).
Perform minor repairs and maintenance on support equipment such as forklifts and pneumatic tools.
Use computer diagnostics and other tools to identify mechanical and electrical issues and implement effective repairs.
Carry out preventative maintenance inspections and follow established procedures to keep equipment in safe working condition.
Accurately log and document all completed work, including repairs, inspections, and parts used.
Follow all safety procedures when working on catwalks and at heights of 60–80 feet, and when working in an open garage and outdoor environment.
Collaborate effectively with team members to complete repairs and projects, including occasional overnight work as needed.
Lift, carry, and move tools, parts, and equipment weighing at least 50 lbs, and occasionally up to 100 lbs, in a safe manner.
Train and develop skills in brakes, AC systems, hydraulics, welding, and pneumatics, with the goal of achieving higher levels of certification.
Support operations by working 50–60 hours per week, including overtime and overnight projects when requested.
Communicate clearly with supervisors, drivers, and team members about equipment status, repair needs, and safety concerns.
Essential Skills
At least 3 years of experience repairing systems on diesel vehicles and/or trucks for entry into the role, with higher consideration for candidates with 5 or more years of experience.
A minimum of 2 years of tenure with previous employers listed on the resume.
Hands-on experience with diesel engines, diesel brakes, and diesel transmissions.
Proven experience diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems, suspensions, drive-train components, air conditioning systems, air brakes, and basic electrical systems (12V/24V).
Previous experience performing preventative maintenance inspections and procedures on diesel trucks or heavy equipment.

Capability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs safely and repeatedly.
Ability to work on catwalks and at heights of 60–80 feet while following all safety protocols.
Willingness and ability to work 50–60 hours per week, including overtime and occasional overnight projects.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for documenting work and interacting with team members.
Ownership of and ability to bring the required minimal tool list to perform daily tasks effectively.
Willingness to train and become certified in brakes, AC systems, hydraulics, welding, and pneumatics.
