Role Summary
The Developer – Retail POS (Integration/Extensions) supports the development and maintenance of integrations between Point of Sale systems and enterprise retail platforms. This role focuses on building and enhancing POS extensions, APIs, and integration components under the guidance of senior developers and architects. The developer will work closely with integration, QA, and functional teams to ensure reliable data flow, stable store operations, and high quality delivery across retail environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and support POS integration components (APIs, adapters, data mappings) to connect POS with enterprise systems such as ERP, OMS, Loyalty, Payments, Inventory, and Promotions under guidance from senior team members.
• Implement POS extensions and customizations following defined design patterns, coding standards, and architectural guidelines.
• Assist in unit testing and integration testing, support defect fixing during SIT/UAT, and validate changes across connected systems.
• Help with troubleshooting integration issues by reviewing logs, analyzing payloads, and reproducing defects, escalating issues with clear details when required.
• Maintain technical documentation for integrations and extensions (API details, mapping documents, configuration notes) and actively participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions__
Core Technical Skills
• Core Java (Java 8+) – POS integration services and custom extensions
• Spring Boot / Integration Frameworks – REST, async/event based integrations
• Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS, Azure or GCP + Dockers, Kubernetes
• MariaDB / Relational Databases – Transactional and integration persistence
• Retail POS Systems (COTS + Custom) – Oracle Xstore / Enactor / Custom Java POS
• Middleware & APIs – REST, JSON, message queues, enterprise integration patterns
Language Requirements
• Spanish (Mexican Spanish) – Mandatory
• English – Mandator
