What You Can Expect
The Surgical Instrument Reprocessing Associate Supervisor ensures the safe and compliant on-site processing of reusable orthopedic surgical instruments. This role supervises daily cleaning, disinfection, and inspection activities to guarantee that instruments are returned to service in optimal functional condition. Success in this position directly supports patient safety, operational efficiency, and adherence to medical device quality standards.
How You'll Create Impact
Supervises daily cleaning, disinfection, and inspection processes to ensure surgical instrument sets are processed accurately and on time
Ensures strict adherence to biosafety protocols and validated cleaning procedures to minimize contamination risk
Monitors washer-disinfector and ultrasonic equipment performance to maintain operational consistency and quality standards
Verifies functional integrity and completeness of orthopedic instrument sets prior to transfer to sterilization or distribution
Identifies and escalates non-conforming instruments or process deviations to prevent surgical delays or failures
Drives team productivity and shift coordination to meet turnaround time requirements for hospital demand
Maintains accurate documentation and traceability logs in compliance with internal quality procedures
Supports continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and reducing instrument downtime
Promotes a culture of accountability, safety, and attention to detail within the operational team
Collaborates with Operations and Quality teams to support audits and ensure alignment with medical device standards.

High attention to detail and technical rigor when inspecting orthopedic instruments
Ability to identify functional defects and escalate non-conformities appropriately
Leadership capability to supervise and guide entry-level operational staff

Basic understanding of medical device quality standards (e.g., ISO 13485 preferred)

Your Background
Preferred Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare, biomedical, engineering, or related field. In regional markets, equivalent technical education in Surgical Instrumentation, Sterile Processing (CEyE), Biomedical Technology, or Medical Device Reprocessing may be considered
Preferred Qualification: At least 2 years of experience in sterile processing, surgical instrument reprocessing, or medical device handling environments
Preferred Qualification: Experience working with orthopedic surgical instruments
Preferred Qualification: Prior experience supervising or coordinating small operational teams
Preferred Qualification: Experience operating washer-disinfectors, ultrasonic cleaning systems, or similar medical reprocessing equipment
Preferred Qualification: Basic understanding of medical device quality standards (e.g., ISO 13485)
Minimum Qualification: Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant experience, or Associate's Degree and 5 years of relevant experience, or High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 years of relevant experience AMER
Training in Biosafety and Infection Prevention. (Required)
Certification in Sterile Processing or Central Sterile Services (e.g., CEyE certification or equivalent). (Required)
