Honeywell Sr Tax Analyst in Mexico City, Mexico
In this role, you will impact the company's tax strategy by analyzing tax data, preparing reports, and assisting in compliance efforts, ultimately helping to optimize the company's tax position and minimize risks.
Prepare/Review monthly and annual federal income taxes, value added tax, withholding taxes.
Coordinate with outside tax return service providers to ensure timely, accurate filing of the Mexican tax returns.
Ensure Honeywell group property registers all taxes allowing the claiming of any CIT/VAT refunds and review of attention to requirements of the tax authorities to present them in a timely manner.
Assist in responding to requests for information from tax government officials to successfully defend tax filing positions.
Review and analysis with external auditors for audit release of financial statements in matters of tax.
Identify research and evaluate alternative tax positions in order to determine and implement a supportable, cost effective filing position for the Mexican tax return filings.
Manage the timely and efficient administration of information assimilation and reporting through the review of processes and implementation of procedures that enhance speed and efficiency of administration.
Determination of forecast of tax accounts, provisional payments, annual tax, value added tax and withholdings, as well as ETR in P&L.
Collaborate with business units to proactively identify and research tax planning opportunities. Assist the Tax Team in implementing structural and non-structural tax planning strategies which maximize tax savings on a defensible basis.
YOU MUST HAVE
Minimum of 5 years of experience directly related and progressively responsible tax compliance.
Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
Experience in tax compliance and reporting.
Proficiency in Tax Technology skills. ERP (SAP/Oracle), Digital Tax Controls and advanced Microsoft Excel.
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
A general understanding of accounting/tax accounting, transfer pricing and Maquila knowledge required. US GAAP and ASC740/accounting for Income Taxes desired.
WE VALUE
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience working in a big four or a corporate tax environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
