Operations Director
This full-time hybrid position is based in Mexico City, a senior leader to manage and strengthen the Collections function, with responsibility across client and insurer portfolios, working capital optimization, and large-scale operations administration. This role plays a critical part in ensuring healthy cash flow, operational excellence, and strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, while driving continuous process improvement and automation.
What the day will look like
Lead the Collections function for clients and insurance/surety companies, managing an annual premium portfolio.
Oversee collections from insurance and surety companies
Manage portfolios with a strong focus on working capital optimization.
Oversee the administration of approximately 1.5 million annual operations, including receipts and invoices.
Manage commissions and professional fees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Ensure the expected payment cycle, minimizing delays and risks.
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing collections team.
Drive process improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, or similar frameworks.
Establish and monitor KPIs, with a strong emphasis on process efficiency, standardization, and automation.
Functions & Skills
Build and maintain strong relationships with executives from insurance and surety companies, corporate clients, payment carriers, and other external stakeholders.
Design and implement specialized portfolio solutions (collections and service) by business segment (e.g., SMEs) and/or Lines of Business (e.g., Affinity).
Lead strategic planning initiatives related to collections, service, and cash flow.
Ensure timely and effective response to client requests, maintaining high service standards.
Proven experience leading large-scale collections operations.
Strong people leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Solid background in working capital, portfolio management, and financial operations.
Demonstrated success in process improvement, KPI management, and automation initiatives.
Ability to operate effectively in complex, multicultural, and multi-country environments.
