Purchasing Clerk

The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for managing the inventory, distribution, and maintenance of tools, equipment, and supplies used in production and maintenance operations. This role ensures that tools are available, in good condition, and properly tracked to support efficient workflow and minimize downtime.


Key Responsibilities:

· Issue and receive tools, equipment, and supplies to/from employees.

· Maintain accurate inventory records using manual logs or digital systems.

· Inspect tools for damage or wear and coordinate repairs or replacements.

· Organize and label tools and storage areas for easy access and identification.

· Monitor tool usage and report discrepancies or losses.

· Perform regular cycle counts and assist with full inventory audits.

· Ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures.

· Support procurement by identifying low stock levels and submitting requisitions.

· Assist in maintaining calibration schedules for precision tools.

· Provide support to technicians and operators regarding tool availability and usage.


Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.

· Experience in a manufacturing or maintenance environment preferred.

· Familiarity with tool types, usage, and maintenance.

· Basic computer skills; experience with inventory management software is a plus.

· Strong organizational and communication skills.

· Ability to lift and move heavy items and stand for extended periods.
