Description
We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Metairie, Louisiana. This short-term contract to permanent position offers an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to contribute to financial operations within the dynamic Oil & Gas industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting expertise and a proactive attitude.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and post accurate journal entries to maintain financial records.
• Manage the general ledger and ensure timely reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Handle multi-state payroll processing, adhering to compliance standards.
• Perform account reconciliations to verify financial data and resolve discrepancies.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze and report financial information.
• Collaborate with team members to support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and internal policies.
• Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
Requirements • Proven experience in journal entry preparation and general ledger management.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Hands-on experience with multi-state payroll processing.
• Proficiency in account reconciliation and resolving discrepancies.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with accounting principles and regulatory compliance.
