The Commission licenses and regulates new motor vehicle manufacturers, distributors and their representatives; new motor vehicle dealers and their salesmen; motor vehicle lessors and their agents; used motor vehicle facilities of the new motor vehicle dealer, motor vehicle lessors, and special vehicle dealers and their salesmen; motor vehicle convertors; specialty vehicle dealers and their salesmen; brokers, lease facilitators, motor vehicle lessor franchisors, satellite warranty and repair centers; vehicle protection product warrantors; recreations product dealers and manufacturers and their salesmen and representatives including: all-terrain trailers; boats; boat packages; marine motors; marine products; motorcycles; recreational vehicles (motor homes, travel trailers, fifth-wheel travel trailers; folding camper trailers, slide in truck campers); trailers (utility trailers, boat trailers, recreational trailers, semitrailers, livestock trailers, dump trailers); companies financing motor trailers; and GAP administrators, in order to prevent frauds, impositions, and other abuses upon its citizens, and avoid undue control of the independent motor vehicle dealer and recreational products by their motor vehicle manufacturing and distributive organizations and foster and keep alive vigorous and healthy competition, by prohibiting unfair practices by which fair and honest competition is destroyed or prevented, and to protect the public against the creation or perpetuation of monopolies and practices detrimental to the public welfare, to prevent the practice of requiring the buying, leasing, or renting of special features, appliances, and equipment not desired or requested by the purchaser, lessee, or renter, to prevent false and misleading advertising, to prevent unfair practices by said licensees, to promote the public safety and prevent disruption of the system of distribution of motor vehicles and recreational products to the public and prevent deterioration of facilities for servicing motor vehicles and keeping same safe and properly functioning, and prevent bankrupting of motor vehicle and recreational products dealers and lessors, who might otherwise be caused to fail because of such unfair practices and competition, thereby resulting in unemployment, disruption of leases, and nonpayment of taxes and loans, and contribute to an inevitable train of undesirable consequences, including economic depression
Department Mission / Goals:
The licensing department offer services of a detailed nature to determine if the statutes and Rules and Regulations that govern and regulate the automotive industry, related businesses, recreational products, motor vehicle sales finance companies/lenders; administrators of GAP waiver and debt forgiveness agreements; and vehicle protection product warrantors are complied with.

Position Summary
The LMVC is seeking an individual to fill the Licensing Analyst vacancy in our Licensing Department. The Licensing Analyst are always professional with a good working knowledge of the license requirements for the motor vehicle/recreational product dealers, manufacturers, distributors, as well as the financing of these products and GAP/Vehicle Protection products. The Licensing Analyst are expected to develop or possess effective verbal and written communication skills and work effectively with supervisors, team members, agency personnel, and licensees

Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in the issuance, maintenance, or reinstatement of licenses; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties
Examines and analyzes data submitted by and/or on behalf of each applicant for licensure for accuracy, authenticity, and completeness of factual information to document determination of eligibility and qualification for licensure
Conducts pre-licensure and post-licensure investigations of each applicant for eligibility and/or qualifications for licensure. Such investigations may be conducted through personal interviews. Receives, safeguards, records, analyzes and prepares report of security clearance data, which may include appropriate identification, provided by federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies for licensees.
Receives, analyzes and verifies authenticity of documents submitted by applicants, licensees, institutions, and/or other licensing authorities as well as federal and state documents authorizing work in the United States and/or in the State.
Advises applicants and/or licensees of status of the application and/or requests relative to requisite information for further disposition of same.
