Actalent Manufacturing Engineer in Mesa, Arizona

Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerJob Description

The Manufacturing Engineer will play a crucial role in enhancing assembly processes by specifying and overseeing the implementation of new equipment. This role involves becoming an Engineering Subject Matter Expert (ESME) for designated processes and equipment, developing an in-depth understanding of the process capabilities, and optimizing their utilization in production. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a mid-sized organization with a limited hierarchy, where taking initiative and supporting collective efforts are valued.

Responsibilities

  • Specify and oversee the implementation of new manufacturing equipment.

  • Provide ongoing support for new equipment and process changes.

  • Develop expertise in designated processes and equipment, becoming an Engineering Subject Matter Expert (ESME).

  • Design tooling and fixtures using CAD and Solidworks.

  • Optimize production lines and improve manufacturing processes.

  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives such as Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing.

  • Develop work instructions and process engineering documentation.

  • Participate in CNC programming for 3, 4, and 5-axis machining using MasterCAM.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to support shop floor workers.

Essential Skills

  • 5-10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering within a metals fabrication environment.

  • Experience in CNC programming mills using MasterCAM or similar software.

  • Proficiency in Solidworks for cell design and fixture & tooling design.

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in an engineering field.

  • Strong technical skills with a consistent desire to learn.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and exhibit a positive, can-do attitude.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of metal fabrication and made-to-order custom manufacturing.

  • Experience with heat exchangers or systems requiring coils.

  • Project management skills and experience with commissioning new manufacturing equipment.

  • PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.

  • History of success in small or mid-sized companies.

  • Open-minded, humble, and practical approach to problem-solving.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Mesa, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $105000.00 - $125000.00/yr.

You will be eligible for an annual performance bonus in 2026 and thereafter, which may be given in the company’s discretion if the company meets the budgeted pre-tax financial goals. Any bonus for this year will be prorated based on your start date. • You will be eligible to participate in the company’s complete benefit offering summarized in the attached 2025 Benefit Summary. Notably, you will be eligible for the 401K program (1st of month after 6 months of employment), and medical, dental, and vision plans (1st of month after 60 days of employment). • In each calendar year, you will qualify for 140 hours of PTO. Your PTO hours for this year will be prorated based on your start date. These PTO hours do not roll over and are not accrued or paid out upon departure from the company. • You will report to Tyler Sleeman, Director – Manufacturing Design. • Start date March 30th, 2026 or as mutually agreed; On-site full-time, Monday-Friday.
