Electrical Project Manager – Data Center (Mission Critical)

Position Summary

The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for the planning, execution, and delivery of mission‑critical electrical systems for data center construction and retrofit projects. This role leads the electrical scope from preconstruction through commissioning, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable electrical codes and client standards. The Electrical Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for all electrical‑related project activities.

Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Project Execution

  • Manage full lifecycle delivery of electrical infrastructure systems, including:

  • Medium- and low‑voltage power distribution

  • Switchgear, switchboards, and panelboards

  • UPS systems and battery plants

  • Standby generators and paralleling gear

  • PDUs, RPPs, busway, and branch power

  • Grounding, bonding, and lightning protection systems

  • Develop and manage electrical installation schedules, manpower plans, and sequencing

  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning efforts

  • Review electrical drawings, one‑lines, load calculations, and specifications for constructability and compliance

Cost & Contract Management

  • Manage electrical project budgets, cost forecasting, and financial performance

  • Prepare and manage change orders, RFIs, and scope clarifications

  • Review and approve vendor and subcontractor pay applications

  • Ensure execution aligns with contractual scope and client requirements

Client & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Serve as the primary electrical point of contact for clients, design teams, commissioning agents, AHJs, and utility providers

  • Lead electrical coordination meetings and progress reviews

  • Provide clear project reporting, risk identification, and issue resolution

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Enforce project safety programs and ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC (NFPA 70), NFPA 70E, and local electrical codes

  • Oversee electrical quality control, inspections, and testing activities

  • Support system energization, integrated systems testing (IST), and project turnover

  • Ensure electrical systems meet data center uptime, redundancy, and reliability standards

Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor Electrical Project Engineers, Superintendents, and field teams

  • Coordinate subcontractors and vendors to maintain schedule, safety, and quality expectations

  • Promote collaboration with mechanical, controls, and commissioning teams

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 5+ years of project management experience focused on mission‑critical electrical systems

  • Strong knowledge of data center electrical infrastructure and power distribution

  • Experience delivering fast‑track, high‑availability projects

  • Proficiency with construction and project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam)

  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Mesa, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $180000.00/yr.
