BAE Systems Mission Assessments (MA) organization is revolutionizing how mission-level operational analysis is planned, executed, and delivered. The Mission Assessments organization was created to address the rapidly increasing demand for mission-level operational analysis. Our mission is to achieve excellence in multidomain (MDO), systems-of-systems (SoS) Mission Assessments and effectively communicate the value of BAE Systems products to customers, DoD leadership and warfighters. To do this, we bring together models of advanced technologies, weapons, platforms, and threats in relevant mission simulations and then apply our deep subject matter expertise and experience to deliver assessments that can change the world.
BAE Systems is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Study Analyst to join the Mission Assessments team. Study Analysts collaborate with design teams assessing threats, developing and quantifying operational level systems requirements, developing operational systems concepts, and assessing mission effectiveness in simulated environments. Analysts perform operational analysis and mission engineering studies using a wide variety of DoD, existing and self-developed modeling & simulation tools.
Study Analysts should have a deep understanding of the many tools and tradecraft techniques to perform effective modeling, simulation, and analysis. They should have an understanding of BAE Systems technology areas such as integrated Electronic Warfare (EW) systems including Electronic Attack (EA), Electronic Protection (EP) and Electronic Support (ES) for RF sensing, detection, identification, geolocation, and jamming; infrared (IR) imaging, guidance, survivability and targeting; C4ISR for actionable intelligence including SIGINT, EO/IR, Multi-INT, and hyperspectral solutions; and information technologies including fusion and dynamic mission battle management. Study Analysts should also have strong communication and presentation skills and be effective in communicating study considerations, methods, and results to BAE Systems internal and external customers. Responsibilities include:
Perform mission simulation using government and industry standard tools to determine mission effectiveness
Perform engagement simulation using standard tools, with an emphasis on DIADS, AFSIM, and MATLAB
Perform modeling and simulation studies that optimize mission performance for weapon systems across the air, land, sea, space, and cyber domains
Plan and perform studies using customer and stakeholder requirements to determine MOEs, MOPs, and TPMs and the methods and tools used to produce them
Develop and apply advanced software and systems methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation, analysis and solution of complex and advanced technical problems
Develop visualizations of the battlespace at mission and engagement levels
Use, develop, and modify tools to support:
Data analysis of simulation or flight test results
Requirements analysis
Interface with internal and external customers
Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this role, it will be performed full-time onsite . This means work will be conducted on location at BAE Systems facilities 100% of the time.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Active Secret Clearance, with the ability and willingness to obtain and maintain TS/SCI and SAP clearances
Typically a Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Operations Research, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science, plus 4 years of relevant work experience
Experience in the following tools: DIADS
Experience in one or more of the following additional tools: AFSIM, ESAMS, TMAP, BRAWLER, NGTS
Experience developing and using one or more of the following: MATLAB, Python, VBA, C/C , or similar SW tools
Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Active Top Secret / SCI Clearance
Experience in multiple mission engineering tools such as MATLAB, AFSIM, Suppressor, JIMM, BRAWLER, STK, TMAP, ESAMS, EADSIM, and EWIR
Expertise in Electronic Warfare, Weapons, Optics, or Communications
Experience with DoD warfighting operations in multiple domains
Experience with collaborative Modeling and Simulation environments and the DoD and industry OA communities
Knowledge of mission engineering driven as part of Model Based Systems Engineering
Experience with tools, infrastructure, and security constraints of DoD environments
Critical thinking skills that will be exercised across multiple levels of detail
Problem solving skills with the ability to produce concrete results despite significant ambiguities in the problem space
Demonstrated success in planning and executing operations analysis studies or similar technical projects
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $97008 - $164914
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
