Position Summary As the Team Lead, Production, you will lead all material handling for the Mentor Manufacturing Center. Key functions of responsibility are safety, quality, documented job functions, resource management, scheduling, training, documentation and continuous improvement activities. What You'll do as a Team Leader, Production Prepares shipping documents and coordinates daily shipments to customers. Ensures that shipments are packaged in accordance with all defined guidelines and recommended best practices to ensure that no issues occur during shipment. Supports processing of purchase order receipts. Is accountable for receiving accuracy and assisting with resolving paperwork discrepancies and verifying counts. Maintain and organize supermarkets and warehouses for efficient flow and control of inventory. Maintain a Kanban-based material management system with no stockouts and meeting established inventory targets. Ensures that products are delivered to the production line in a timely manner. Maintain Cycle Counting program. Resolve all discrepancies and variances to material transactions reported. Manage all expired and obsolete inventory Maintain receiving records and deliveries to stock as well as purchase and shipping order transactions in the Oracle and AS400 database systems, and understand and perform all aspects of data entry. Implements lean manufacturing principles and techniques. Prepare required reports on the performance of the department (i.e., SQDC boards). Responsible for creating, measuring, analyzing and disseminating data to support SQCD measurements. Prepare required reports on the performance of the department (i.e., SQDC boards). Maintain results through coaching, counseling of staff, and setting meaningful and measurable goals. Plans and administers department activities while providing a safe work environment Support quality, safety, lean, and continuous improvement initiatives through participation in teams and special projects. Work within established budget guidelines and targets. Actively identify and implement actions to reduce cost and improve accuracy and efficiency within the assigned work area Perform functions of a material handler, as required. Communicates clearly, both verbally and in writing, with Engineers, Quality Personnel, Supervisors, and fellow team employees Effectively copes with change and changing priorities, staying focused on achieving key priorities related to safety, quality, and delivery/customer needs. The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed Required: High School Diploma or GED. 1 - 3 years in a Team Lead or equivalent working experience. Must be able to lift fifty pounds (50 Lbs.) repetitively. The percentage of time standing is sixty percent (60%), and the percentage of time sitting is forty percent (40%). Preferred: Use of Microsoft Office and Oracle is preferred. Experience in Lean principles strongly desired. Other: Demonstrated expertise with Kanban-based materials management systems.
