MASTER SCHEDULER
Position Summary
The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining the master production schedule to support customer delivery requirements, production capacity, and material availability in a highly regulated aerospace and defense manufacturing environment. This role aligns customer demand, shop capacity, and supply chain constraints to ensure reliable on-time delivery while maintaining ERP/MRP data accuracy and schedule integrity.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on customer demand, forecasts, and contractual commitments.
- Balance production capacity, labor availability, and material supply to meet delivery requirements.
- Prioritize DPAS-rated orders through the ERP/MRP system.
- Monitor schedule adherence and adjust production priorities to mitigate delays.
- Coordinate closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering & Quality.
- Identify material shortages, capacity constraints, or risks that could impact customer delivery.
- Maintain accurate ERP planning parameters including lead times, lot sizes, and demand inputs.
- Support compliance with AS9100 quality requirements and customer contractual obligations.
- Provide regular reporting on schedule performance, backlog, and delivery risks to leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, scheduling, and operational efficiency.
Required Training & Experience
- 5+ years of production planning or scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems (such as M1, Epicor, SAP, or similar).
- Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams within operations and supply chain.
- Ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or other regulated manufacturing industries.
- Familiarity with AS9100 quality systems.
- Experience in high-mix, low-to-medium volume manufacturing.
Visual Acuity
Eye examinations are required annually; the candidate shall have visual acuity of 20/25 in one or both eyes capable of reading the Jaeger J1 chart or equivalent at 16 inches either corrected or uncorrected for visual inspection of parts.
