Meta Software Engineering Manager, AI Media Foundations in Menlo Park, California
Summary:
We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager to join the Media Foundation team. This leader will drive applied research and development in the areas of computer vision, generative AI for media, and media optimization and efficiency, with a particular focus on media generation and enhancement.

Lead and mentor a team of research engineers and scientists working on cutting-edge media technologies
Drive the strategy and execution of research initiatives in computer vision, generative AI for media, and media optimization
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate research breakthroughs into scalable products and solutions
Lead the development of new algorithms and systems for media generation, enhancement, and efficiency
Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI, computer vision, and media technologies, and apply them to Meta’s products
Minimum Qualifications:

PhD or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
8+ years of experience in research and development in computer vision, generative AI, or related media technologies
2+ years of experience managing technical teams, including performance management
Proven track record of leading research teams and delivering impactful results
Expertise in media generation, enhancement, and optimization
Experience with large-scale systems and productization of research

Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)
Prior experience in managing cross-functional or multi-disciplinary teams
Familiarity with media compression, streaming, and real-time processing
Demonstrated skills to drive efficiency and optimization in media pipelines
Public Compensation:
$184,000/year to $257,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
