Meta Lead Counsel, Network Infrastructure in Menlo Park, California
Summary:
Meta seeks a highly experienced commercial transactions lawyer who thrives in a deadline- focused environment and can drive execution of contracts to support the network infrastructure team in the US. In this role, you will handle commercial negotiations and regulatory issues related to the development and operation of communications infrastructure that is critical to Meta’s services, business operations and AI aspirations. You will work closely with legal and cross-functional colleagues from various areas that include, tax, finance, engineering and other teams to ensure our contracts are well-calibrated across relevant areas of risk and are reflective of the company’s policies and risk tolerance.
Required Skills:
Lead Counsel, Network Infrastructure Responsibilities:
Structure, draft and negotiate a broad range of agreements in support of the expansion of Meta’s network infrastructure, including joint build agreements and supply contracts for the construction of fiber-optic cable systems, dark fiber leases and IRUs, colocation, and cloud networking agreements
Research and analyze state and federal rules and regulations impacting Meta’s network infrastructure projects
Use AI tools to leverage your performance and enhance productivity
Collaborate with partner teams (e.g., Finance, Tax, Compliance) and external counsel to ensure contracts meet cross-functional organizational requirements while meeting business timing and commercial needs
Develop and maintain effective relationships with key clients and cross-functional partners
Provide well-calibrated, solid and practical business and legal advice
Minimum Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution
Active and in good standing bar license in at least one U.S. state or equivalent foreign bar license. Where the jurisdiction of licensure differs from the location in which the role is based, the ability to promptly obtain permission to practice law for Meta in that location
5+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, including at a law firm, in-house, or in government
Demonstrated experience providing legal advice on technology, internet, or media products and services
Experience with advertising, privacy, data protection, consumer protection, competition, and/or intellectual property laws and regulations
Effective communication, legal writing, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated business judgment, client counseling, and strategic thinking skills
Proven track record of delivering results with large-scale, cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment
Experience making decisions in the face of ambiguity and evolving priorities

Telecom network terrestrial, subsea cable commercial transactional experience or telecom regulatory experience is preferred
Foundational use of AI tools to maximize efficiency and productivity
Public Compensation:
$170,000/year to $237,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
