Do you enjoy working in manufacturing to manage day-to-day activities while being a go-to resource for your team? If so, we are currently looking for a Shift Supervisor to join our team! Our frontline leadership team includes eight Shift Supervisors that lead over 200 employees across our three main operational departments, as well as various support departments. Our opening is on the straight 12 hour night shift which works a 2, 2, 3 schedule from 6pm-6am.

What you will do

  • Foster a safe work environment and lead by example, adhering to and enforcing all safety and regulatory procedures. Promptly acting on unsafe situations.

  • Act as the Emergency Coordinator for the plant during off hours.

  • Provide daily work assignments to team members, helping them establish daily goals, and reviewing daily achievements.

  • Mobilize workforce in response to machine breakdowns, quality issues, employee call-ins.

  • Take appropriate risks to experiment with new ideas for process improvements which drive innovation. Evaluate and learn from end results.

  • Support your team by working to remove obstacles and following up in a timely manner.

  • Communicate openly, truthfully and compassionately with respect for individuals, by actively listening to understand and strive for win-win solutions

  • Resolve employee issues (performance, behavioral, etc.) through problem resolution and input from managers and/or Human Resources.

  • Make decisions on product quality issues and coordinate with scheduling and quality teams on issues.

  • Participate in assigned audits and maintain constant plant readiness for all regulatory and certification audits.

  • Ensure daily accuracy of Kronos timekeeping and schedules to ensure accountability and timely payroll processing.

  • Coach team members on performance and improvements, while also includes facilitating appropriate training and administering recognition for engagement and results.

  • Perform root cause investigations and develop corrective actions to prevent recurring problems.

  • Issue disciplinary actions fairly and consistently

  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality

Working Conditions:

  • This job operates primarily in a manufacturing environment working around heavy machinery with high-speed rotating parts, mobile equipment; continuous strobe lights may be present.

  • This position may have exposure to hazards such as various chemicals including inks and solvents, dust, elevated noise levels, resin odors, and heat.

  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, bend, stoop, hear, and occasionally lift items up to 50 pounds

  • Vision requirements include the ability to see clearly at twenty inches or less and free of colorblindness

  • Overtime and variable work hours involving rotating shifts of nights and weekends are regularly required

Education / Professional Background

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in business management or other related field preferred

  • 2-4 years of related frontline leadership/supervisory experience is preferred
